We need your help!

The daily production of meals for our Seniors at Lunch and Meals on Wheels Programs is supported not only by the dedicated staff and volunteers but also by the equipment used in the kitchen. We are very good about repairing and repurposing our equipment to extend its life. Unfortunately, the kettle (purchased in 2006) cannot be repaired, and replacing it will cost $30,000. The kettle is used daily in the preparation of vegetables, meats, casseroles, and more, it is essential to our capability of producing quality nutritious meals for the seniors we serve.

Seniors like William. Back in April, our volunteers told one of our Meals on Wheels Site Coordinators that he was not doing well and would really benefit from the addition of more nutrition. Our coordinator shared this with our CEO Tom Kammerdener, who promptly approved a second meal (PM Meal) to be added. Today, the Client was so happy to tell our area supervisor during an assessment that he has gained 7 pounds since then, taking him from 98 lbs. to 105 lbs. Most importantly William says that he feels better, has more energy, and reported to his primary doctor that his new weight gain was because he was eating better all due to Meals on Wheels!

Fighting food insecurity and isolation is what Meals on Wheels is all about. Please help us offset the cost of the new kettle and let's continue to change the world, one senior at a time!
